A winter home and transitional studio

“It's hard to believe,” I think to myself as I stand in the middle of my huge studio. I'm actually traveling, but something has brought me here to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern over the winter, and amazing things have happened in the last few weeks. I've given an old, almost forgotten workshop a new lease of life - it's now my cozy craft room, equipped with a workbench, couch and everything my creative heart desires. This is where I will be preparing my travel plans over the winter.

But how did this actually come about?

While I was still on Mallorca, working on my big travel plans, I came to a realization: I want to go to North America, get to know the indigenous peoples, experience American culture and spirituality up close. Back then, I often listened to the Hopp & Hoff podcast while working in a host's workshop, where I spent 25 hours a week sanding and varnishing old chairs. One episode that particularly intrigued me was about how to attract positivity into your life through the right affirmations. They recommended the book “The Secret” - and I devoured it in bed at night.

I quickly realized that the mind actually creates our lives, but in my case, often inconsistently. I vacillated back and forth without committing myself: one day I dreamed of doing this, the next of something completely different. But what do I really want? The book made me think about my long-held desire - a desire that is deeply rooted in me: to learn about Native American life and wisdom. I wanted to finally ask the questions that have been with me since childhood. What prophecies do they have for the future? What can they tell me about the spiritual nature of the world? It felt as if this dream could reveal the deeper meaning of my life - a feeling that had stayed with me since childhood. But I also knew that without the necessary resources and funds, it would remain a dream. That's why I affirmed to myself, as described in the book: “I am happy and grateful to be able to travel the world and make a living with my art.”
And now I'm standing here, in this improvised studio in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, asking myself: isn't that exactly what I affirmed to myself? Shortly after this affirmation, surprising things happened. My plans changed. Suddenly I ended up at “Leo Vermel”, where I was interviewed by my hosts Anne and Sebastian. A fantastic time that I absolutely have to write a blog about!

After leaving Mallorca, I came here to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and was greeted with a shooting star and northern lights from the universe. In this very place I found an unexpected home for my art, and I feel that this place is exactly what I need for the next steps. The studio is huge, and in this vastness anything is now possible: my art will create the foundation for my travel plans.

So I opened my painting case and got some canvases. A new work is being created: “Mallorca Spirit” - a painting that symbolizes the spirit of this trip. I am also working on a new logo with the title “Fulfillment”, as a reminder of the affirmation that brought me here. I've also just finished a power painting I call “Cosmic Orange” - an image to remind me to stay true to my dream, no matter what anyone else says or thinks.
I will continue to paint and prepare my dream until spring 2025. The studio in Mecklenburg is the place where everything comes together before I set off. If you want to be inspired, take a look at a few pictures on my Instagram channel and join me on my journey. Energetic greetings and see you soon.
