An evening full of sounds: about the magic of resonance

The circle of fifths
Sometimes it's the simple evenings that stay in your memory. A meeting with an old friend, two guitars and a little time - that's all it takes. It was just such an evening when I met up with Benny, whom I've known for years. Although we don't see each other often, the chemistry between us is always right. As soon as we pick up the guitars, we're on the same wavelength. It's as if we vibrate on the same frequency when we make music.

However, this evening was not only musically inspiring. It also made me think about the nature of harmony in life. The circle of fifths, a simple but powerful tool for musicians, played a major role in this. For those who don't know it: The circle of fifths is a wooden wheel that allows you to play in a specific key, ensuring that all notes and chords in the chosen range harmonize. It's fascinating how the obvious notes always fit together perfectly, as if they were meant for each other.

And this is where my mental journey began:
The idea that certain things in life work in a similar way. As in the circle of fifths, there are people and situations in life with whom you harmonize and others with whom you do not. However, this does not mean that one note is better or worse than the other - just as no person is inherently better or worse. But there are also people whose “soul is out of tune” and it is difficult to come into harmony with them. But when you are at peace with yourself, it is crucial to find people who are in harmony with you. This principle is reminiscent of quantum mechanics, where only certain particles attract each other, depending on whether their vibration in

Language without words
Instruments playing a symphony together can evoke deep emotions, they make us feel what the composer must have felt. It is like a language without words - a sonorous transmission of emotions through sounds and melodies. You resonate with some people, like two notes or chords that harmonize and sound perfect together.
Figuratively speaking, everyone has their own frequency, and sometimes you meet someone who vibrates on exactly the same frequency. It's like a concert where each person is like an instrument, and together we play a song - a common composition that originates deep within each of us.

It is this resonance that made the evening with Benny so special.
It was more than just music - it was an experience that touched me deeply. Playing the guitar, vibrating together in the same key, the feeling of harmony - all this showed me once again how valuable it is to have people with whom you resonate. It was an evening full of sounds, but also full of thoughts and emotions that will resonate for a long time to come.

...And yes, I am always amazed at how well some things just fit - be it the music, the people or even a piece of wood like the circle of fifths. It's as if the universe sometimes shows us that everything is connected. In those moments, when everything fits together, you really feel alive.
