“The painting is finished,” I thought quietly as I applied the last brushstroke. It was as if I had put a piece of myself on the canvas with every line, the “golden mandala” in the middle and the protective circle I had drawn around it. I called it “pure liberation”, and that's exactly what it was - a release from all the burdensome doubts that had accompanied me for so long.
I remembered the path that followed. It wasn't just the desire to paint, but the search for something deeper - for a belief in myself. At first it felt like a quiet whisper, but with every step forward the voice grew louder: “You are worth it.” - “Believe in yourself!”
Just a few days later, something happened that changed everything. There were no trains running in Cologne that day. So I approached a friendly lady with renewed self-confidence: “How long have you been waiting for the train?”
“Two hours,” she replied. So we continued our journey together. We got to know each other better and better and felt a resonance in our hearts.
“What inspired you to become an artist?” asked the friendly lady. Her question gave me pause, and when I answered, it was like saying it out loud for the first time: “I want to follow my calling and express my true worth.”
The conversations that followed were like brushstrokes in my life - each one adding a new color. This encounter turned into a deep friendship that continues to this day. She also bought 2 works of art from me. It was as if the painting had brought us together, as if the self-love I had put into “Pure Liberation” had built a bridge between us.
Now, when I look at the painting, I don't just see power, symbols or shapes. I see a journey - a journey made up of moments of uncertainty, faith and connection. And this journey has taught me that everything is connected: the art, the encounters and the love we give ourselves.
